The Golden Bears of Kutztown have their sights on a Rugby East championship, but will embrace another exciting opportunity next month: the chance to test their mettle against the putative champs of the Big 10 Rugby Conference, mighty Indiana. 

The East Coast Rugby Conference (ECRC) has reached new heights of rugby excellence and national profile with stellar seasons from American International College and Boston College. One of these teams —both currently sitting atop ECRC standings with 5-0 records — will earn the right to play reigning Atlantic Coast Rugby Conference (ACRL) champs Clemson at the ACRC Bowl Series in Charlotte on Nov. 20-21. 

Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference

Ardmore, PA, Oct 21, 2015—The Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference (SCRC) has decided that its championship game will be played in Charlotte on Nov. 21 as part of the ACRC Bowl Series. 

This was a thrilling weekend in college rugby across the U.S., with more than a few close games, comeback victories and a major upset in DIA.  

The very biggest names in college 15s rugby go at it this week in contests that could reorder some national rankings. 

American Collegiate Rugby Championships

This ACRC Bowl Game was one of the most anticipated, because they were from two conferences that really didn't know each other.

Among the great games played this past weekend were close contests between Boston College and New England College, Kutztown and Iona, and Connecticut-Northeastern.  

The Atlantis Rugby Corporation will host an Individual Testing and Open Rugby Sevens Camp for High School and U19 Boys and Girls, Collegiate and U23 Men and Women on Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Some teams are trying to solidify dominance while others hope to make their move. It's a great weekend of college rugby as we move into mid-October. 

AIC Looks to Stay on Top

American International College is neck-and-neck with Boston College in the race to win the ECRC regular-season title. Fairfield has a long history of great rugby and much to prove as a newcomer to Division IAA competition.

Despite some inclement weather in the East (leading to a postponement of the Maryland-Virginia Tech match, among others), there was plenty of great rugby this past weekend, including contests between Army-Penn State, UMass-New England College, and Stephen F. Austin-Sam Houston.  

Rugby East: Army Overpowers Penn State

Up 17-10 at the half, #5 Army fought off a strong second half effort by the Nittany Lions to claim their fourth victory in as many games.
