Emil Signes was kind enough to write an article for the 2012 Surfside Sevens Program.

When I first played 7s, in 1969, I thought it was an odd game, especially for slow people like me. When I first coached it, in 1977, it was a great way to spend a summer day out, and when my team won its first-ever major tournament (the 1978 Ontario Sevens), I knew a good sevens day could produce quite a rush.

In 1986, I was appointed coach to the US National Men’s Sevens Team. The first international sevens trip I took — Hong Kong and Australia — was the longest and most exotic trip of my rugby life to date, but — as I was to find out later — I hadn’t seen nothin’ yet.

Aimed at bringing the island together, "Proud to be a Bermudian" not only gives insight into the vibrant culture Bermuda possesses but also is the perfect song to kick off the upcoming charity match benefiting Beyond Rugby.

The Bondurant Blue Plague created a massive effect on the island of Bermuda by taking the High School Division of the Bermuda International 7s. The team brought home some hardware in the process.

Congratulations to Dalton House for being named “Man of the Match”. Congratulations to Hudson Vroegh being named MVP of the Tournament. The Plague represented well, grew as a team, created memories of a lifetime, but most of all, created brothers for life.

I once played perfect in a perfect match in a perfect tournament.

It was a long time ago in a place on the other side of the world. My first thought about what you might say is, "Come on, really?" I say that to myself all the time, but it really did happen. And, as a pretty good rugby player in my day, I made a point of striving for perfection every time I played. So much so that unfortunately I seem to remember all the times I was -not so- perfect.

For the 2nd year in a row, Atlantis mean and women play in the finals. "It has been a great week. Old and new friends. Amazing players and coaches and friends and family," said coach Chris Ryan.

Caribbean 7s in the Spice Isle of the Caribbean

With humble beginnings in Trinidad in the 1980s, the ‘Caribbean 7s’ started out as an annual tournament, primarily with local and regional competition. It continued until 2010, when it was revived by a group of rugby enthusiasts and the help of the Tobago Rugby Club.
