Kings College (W)
The King’s College Women’s team was formed at the beginning of the 2016 fall semester by a group of female students.
What began as recreational touch rugby sessions quickly turned into more formalized and drill-oriented practices. Eventually, a committed group of students voiced their interest in forming an official women’s rugby team. Through support from the college’s administration, the athletic department, and student affairs, the King’s College Women’s RFC was formed.
King’s College Rugby is an official member of USA Rugby, the National Small College Rugby Organization, and the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union. Rugby is played both in the fall and spring semester. In the fall semester, rugby is played in the 10s or 15s format, while in the spring semester rugby 7s is played. In both seasons, regular-season play is followed by play-offs with a chance to enter the national finals.
