The NAV 7s coaching staff, including Justin-Kyle (JK) Anderson, Chase Suzenevich, and Robert Bortins, is keyed up to compete in Philly.
Director of Rugby Robert Bortins, with over a decade of coaching and administrative experience in men's, college and youth rugby, leads the team of coaching gurus. Chase Suzenevich is an experienced rugby tactician, while Justin-Kyle has competed and coached in club sevens nationals a number of times as well as assisted with the High School All-Americas, EIRA Carolina and CGRU all-stars.
Expect to see a NAV team in Philly with a mixture of speed, size, and experience. Corey Jones, and Michael Basnett, both Bulldogs from the 2018 national championship 7s team are on the squad. The team will assemble in Southern Pines for training and is truly expected to be a contender at the Greater Chester Valley Sports Complex at the end of June.
The team is lead by last year's national champions Corey Jones, and Michael Basnett who competed for the Bulldogs in 2018. The rest of the NAV 7s squad consists of players from North Carolina, primarily the cities of Charlotte and Southern Pines. Competing in the Mid-Atlantic for qualification this summer a lot is expect of the NAV.
