Kutztown Downs Stony Brook

Stony Brook hosted Kutztown in a non-conference game on Saturday, Sept 12. Despite a strong start, the Seawolves were swamped by the Golden Bears 56-17. 

Kutztown kicked off the scoring with a try from senior Alex Faison-Donahoe. After tries from Shane Wend and Phil Salter, Stony Brook led 12-5 18:45 into the first half. From that point it was Kutztown's game, however, as the Golden Bears turned on the offense, starting with an offload by Trent Hensley to junior wing Vetekina Malafu for the score. (Malafu would cross the line twice more before the final whistle.)

Strong goal defense proved important to the Bears' success, but it was the pressure on the opposite end that made the big difference in a big win over Stony Brook.
