Kutztown Men, Princeton Women Top Inaugural URugby Philly Sevens
Kutztown captured the men’s cup and Princeton was tops in the women’s category after a weekend of hard-fought rugby in Malvern, Pa.
The Golden Bears defeated Temple in the cup final by a score of 50-15, using their physicality to repeatedly power through a tenacious Owl defense. West Virginia took the Plate with a 29-5 win over Georgetown, East Stroudsburg shut out Villanova 40-0 to secure the Bowl, and Rutgers took the Spoon with a 29-10 victory over Drexel.
On the women’s side, Princeton A went 5-0 on the weekend to win the Cup.
In the Developmental Final on Saturday, it was St. Joes II over Temple II 17-10. In an additional trophy match on Sunday, Kutztown III defeated Lehigh.
