Greenwich Rugby’s Incredible Journey (Video)
Greenwich Rugby came to the Ariel Re Bermuda 7s to win—and win they did. But they got much more out of the trip than just victory on the rugby pitch. Along with clinching the Cup in the Elite Boys division with a dramatic, overtime 12-7 win over West Chester, Greenwich got the Bermuda experience—beautiful beaches, blue skies and island culture. It all added up to a journey these high schoolers will never forget.
The team chronicled their trip, from the drive to the airport through bunking at Warwick Camp and hanging out on the rocks at Horseshoe Bay, all the way to the victor’s circle. (Watch the video)
Greenwich finished an impressive 6-0 on the weekend. In their first game on Friday, Greenwich squeaked by West Chester 15-14, then outscored Bermudian opponents 134-12 over the next four games before the deciding Cup match on Saturday made them Ariel Re Bermuda 7s Champions.
