Empire Sevens Round III: Binghamton

The final event of a three tournament series, the Empire Rugby Conference (ERC) Sevens came to Binghamton on April 18. In the end it was out-of-conference guest Kutztown dominating the proceedings, defeating Stony Brook 38-0 in the Cup match. 

All ERC schools (Brockport, Syracuse, Binghamton, Fordham, Colgate, Stony Brook, Kings Point) were in attendance, plus out of conference participants Kutztown, AIC, Ithaca & Buffalo. 

Syracuse vanquished Brockport 29-12 for the Bowl championship. Colgate claimed the Plate final, defeating Binghamton 26-10. The Game of the Day was a hard-fought Stony Brook-Colgate matchup eventually won by the Seawolves 24-22. "End to end action and last second try to decide pool winner," tweeted the ERC. 

ACRC7s Bid

The winner of the ERC series (restricted to ERC schools) will receive our bid to the ACRC 7s in Virginia Beach and the USAR National Championship. All teams may participate in ACRC 7's, but only the winner of the league title will receive some financial assistance to attend.
