St Joes Defeats Villanova in Crosstown Keystone Match
Villanova falls to St. Joes 57-15 in a hard fought match. The match played Saturday night under the lights at Sweeney Field on the campus of St. Joseph's University.
Villanova scored first and stayed in the match with senior Sean Sawyer putting it down for Nova just before half to put Villanova within 11. Halftime St. Joes 21 - Villanova 10.
The second half, though, was all St. Joseph's University as they outscored the Wild Cats by more than 30 points.

The Main Line's two big Catholic universities are getting in some serious rugby before the visit of Pope Francis next weekend. Villanova travels down Lancaster Avenue to take on St. Joe's this Saturday at 7 p.m. on Hawk Hill. St. Joes is coming off a loss to Delaware, while Villanova defeated Columbia in its season opener last weekend.
After graduating a solid senior class, the Hawks will look to new captains Jimmy Wolfer and Thomas Cuddihy to lead the way and make a push for the Keystone conference championship. Villanova is led by seniors Billy Gordon, Tim Leyden, and Sean Sawyer as the Wildcats enter the Keystone Rugby Conference.
